New season is coming

Summer  holidays are gone and  I`m back at work again.  I spent a wonderful time in last few weeks visiting some outdoor musical gigs and cultural events. But the main event in this summer was graduating from university. Now I got civil engineer speciality oficially. The next step was joining the master degree studies at university. Papers are succesefully added and I`m counted in government paid study program.

In the meantime I`m working on publication for university scientific proceedings and preparing for some conferences, thats will be soon. The subject of publications is relevant to my bachelor thesis research –plywood load bearing panels. This time mechanical properties of plywood veneer was investigated more deeper, and new type of panels simulated virtually.

Of course, some engineering projects are still going parallel and soon I will add  new examples of completed projects to my portfolio galerry.

Whats new

It`s  8.  february  right now.  Winter gave us some beautiful  moments in Latvia for last months.  My bachelor work is still in progress and seems to be ended only in spring period. The ammount of work is much more  than was predicted earlier. In the meantime I was busy with some other engineering projects, like primary schools insulation and constructions for city main heating tubes – rigid supports and underground technical room. The last object is still active because organization who coordinate heating routes make changes in project regular.  Also soon I will start drafting foundation constructions for multi-story flat house.

hello, again ! It`s almost mid-summer, but temperature outside is only 16 deg. ;(  so it`s right time to write short summary about passed month and perspective plans. The last month was quite tense, because I got to complete all my university half-year projects, like industrial buildings project from reinforced concrete. The main problem was calculate cross sections of bearing elements (columns, footings, roof panels..) and assign right reinforcement diameter. Other task was creation the multi-storey building in Lira9.4  and Monomah 4.2 computer programs to determinate right reinforcement amount for columns, plates and beams. Later results from these two programs was compared- results was tolerable. Also some time was spent to create report about practice in design office  as construction drafter.

A lot of time has passed since last post. The reason is too busy schedule of study jobs and other works from outside, like swimming pool project for Limbazi town (see 3D category) .  The positive news is that my bachelor work – reasearch on the plywood sandwich panels has moved forward a little bit. Current task is to make calculations in ANSYS to determinate the advantageous thickness of the layers and distances between ribs.  The real tests will be coming soon !

Hello world !

Its 19-04-2009 and its a creation date of my blog. As you can see there is nothing special features installed yet, just  template  presented by wordpress. The header picture will be changed soon. About me you can get some info from category “About” :] The name of the site also may me changed, because at the beginning it was meant as a place for my portfolio works. But now i think that portfolio will be placed in separated category and splited in several parts  – for 3D graphics, CAD engineering jobs and translations also.  In this blog i will try to post at least one post at mounth, mainly about my researches in Riga Techical University, finished 3d projects and freelance work through the internet.
